This guide is intended to give you a high level overview of how to get the most from GoLinks. It will cover the key aspects of using the platform to make sure your team is receiving the most value from the tool.
Logging In
You can login to GoLinks by heading to golinks.io and hitting “Log In” at the top right of the page. From there you will enter your work email address and authenticate through your company’s SSO (single sign on).

GoLinks Overview
Once you’ve logged in you’ll be prompted to walk through an onboarding tutorial where you’ll learn more about GoLinks, how they work, and be asked to give some information for your admin team. We highly recommend going through the whole tutorial as it is short, and will ask for your department so your admins can get some analytics on your teams usage.

Extension
**Your IT department may have done a manual install and pin of the extension on your company’s devices. If so, you will not see the prompt to install the extension. If you do see the prompt, please install AND pin the extension.
Installing and pinning the extension is best practice because GoLinks WILL NOT work without the extension, and pinning it makes for easier creation of golinks.

Creating and Using GoLinks
Once you’ve made it through the onboarding tutorial and added the extension, you can now start creating golinks! We recommend starting with creating golinks for the tools and resources you use every single day. If you have a lot of them then you can import your bookmarks into golinks via the button below

There will be a tutorial to walk you through how to import your bookmarks. Once you’ve done this, we recommend creating additional golinks for tools and resources that are commonly used within the company. If they already exist you will receive an error message that the golink already exists under the specific keyword you chose, and you’ll have to pick a different keyword if you want to still make a golink for that resource. If you think there’s a better keyword for that resource, you can always add the additional name as an alias. That way both go/keywords will redirect to the same place!

We recommend creating golinks with the extension as it will be the most seamless way of creating. You simply go to the resource you want to make a golink for, hit the extension in your browser bar, and adjust any information you want. A suggested keyword will be auto filled, as well as the description. You can also add tags, aliases, and confirm the visibility you want.
Visibility
You can choose between 3 visibility types for your golinks. “Company” means it will be visible and searchable to everyone in the company. “Unlisted” means the golink exists, but its hidden from everyone in the workspace. It can’t be searched or found anywhere. It can only be found if you share the exact keyword with someone. “Private” means the golink is totally private to JUST the user who created it. Private golinks redirect based off of who is logged in. So two users can have the exact same keyword for different resources and it will direct to each resource based off of who created it.
Types of golinks
You can create many different kinds of golinks- all serving a specific purpose. There’s multi-links, geo-links, and variable golinks. Find the golink that best fits your needs!
Once you create the golink you can now use it within your workflow! You can type it directly into the URL bar, any of our app integrations, and Slack or MS Teams!
You can also add golinks to your favorite collections, or create your own collection! Instructions on how to create collections can be found here.
Lastly, if you don’t remember a golink you created or want to see which ones have been created for your workspace, you can find all of your golinks on the dashboard and search for all the golinks within your workspace by using the search bar at the top of the dashboard.
